Midsomer Murders walking tours return for new season
Walking tours around one of the most common filming locations for Midsomer Murders have returned for a new season.
The Thame Midsomer Walking Tours started again for the 2025 season at 2pm on Wednesday, April 2.
They will continue to take place on each Wednesday until October 29, with Saturday tours at 2pm from June 21 to September 13.
Thame is one of the most-filmed Midsomer Murders locations, sometimes appearing as Causton, or sometimes as one of the many picturesque villages featured in the show.
The tours begin outside Thame Town Hall, where people will be greeted by their guide.
They will be taken around the town’s 23 Midsomer filming locations and their guide will tell them about each one – including Thame Town Hall, which is Causton Town Hall in the show, the Spread Eagle Hotel, the Black Horse Pub and Brasserie, Rumsey’s Chocolaterie and Buttermarket.

The Prebendal, the former home of Bee Gees member Robin Gibb, who is buried in St Mary’s Churchyard nearby, is a popular attraction.
Another location on the tour, Thame Museum, features a Robin Gibb Gallery.
The tours are led by a team of seven volunteer guides who are enthusiastic experts, not only on Midsomer Murders locations, the episodes, the actors, the bizarre methods of murder and much more, but on local history too.
One person who has previously been on the tour said: “I can see why the tour is so popular – it was a delight.
“It was very informative, not only regarding Midsomer Murders, but also with more general historical information.
“We all had a very enjoyable time. I can confidently recommend the Midsomer tour for anyone with an interest in Midsomer and in Thame’s historical background.”
Tony Long, tour coordinator, added: “We are delighted that our popular Midsomer walking tours are starting a new season.
“Midsomer fans and visitors from all over the world will once again visit Thame and take the tour.
“Midsomer Murders is one of our most popular TV series, now in its 28th year and counting.”
It is estimated one billion people around the world have seen Midsomer Murders and it has been viewed in more than 200 countries.
There have been 24 series and 132 episodes since the show began in 1997.
It has been confirmed filming for series 25 of Midsomer Murders will begin from the end of March, with four new stories.
