Solo Travelers Gain More Access With Riviera Travel
Riviera Travel is expanding its reach for solo travelers with expanded no-single-supplement options across select 2026 European river cruises. The company’s move includes access to several popular itineraries, offering greater flexibility and value for your independent travel clients.
Riviera Travel Hearts Solo Sailors
Departures available without a solo surcharge span itineraries including The Blue Danube, Cruise the Heart of Europe, Rhine, Moselle & Medieval Germany, The Douro, Porto & Salamanca and The Seine, Paris & Normandy. Fares start at approximately $1,800 per person.
The expansion reinforces Riviera’s focus on making river cruising more accessible. On The Blue Danube, guests travel through central Europe visiting cities such as Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, and Salzburg. Excursions include guided tours of historic centers, imperial landmarks and riverfront towns along a route that captures the cultural core of the Danube. The itinerary operates aboard four-star ships featuring all-outside cabins, locally inspired cuisine, and shore experiences balanced between city visits and village stops.
The Douro, Porto & Salamanca River Cruise sails roundtrip from Porto through the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its terraced vineyards and small riverside communities. The voyage includes Portugal’s wine country, the medieval city of Salamanca across the Spanish border and views of traditional rabelo boats that define the river’s landscape. Onboard programming focuses on regional gastronomy and local heritage.
In northern France, the Seine, Paris & Normandy River Cruise pairs the capital’s urban history with the countryside that inspired Impressionist painters. It includes guided visits to Monet’s house and gardens at Giverny, Rouen’s Gothic architecture and the D-Day beaches near Arromanches. The sailing combines city and coastal perspectives that remain central to France’s river cruise appeal.
Looking ahead, Riviera will extend its solo offering with the introduction of the MS George Eliot in June 2027. The vessel will sail itineraries dedicated exclusively to solo guests along the Danube, Rhine and Moselle rivers. When launched, it will become the world’s first river cruise ship built specifically for independent travelers.
